This is part of a poem I recently wrote in keeping with the theme of my upcoming book, Consumed by a Season, a novel about a couple experiencing postpartum depression.

Often the effects of a postpartum disorder that are talked about relate to the relationship between a mother and baby. But there is so much more, especially when considering the many different ways a partnership can be affected within the postpartum phase.

But healing can take place in darkness and hills can reach across valleys to become mountains once more.
